On that other point, I'm also a big believer in taking the time and effort to understand yourself. That kind of internal enlightenment leads you to all sorts of revelations about the world we live in. Problem is, they aren't always good revelations. Sometimes the more your eyes are opened to the truth around you, the more disgusted you become with everything you see.
Introspection is just something you don't really see much of nowadays. We're all so concerned with what's happening to other people whom we rarely see and to everything that both involves and does not involve us. What I mean by that particular paradox is that, if something concerns us, we're immediately intrigued. Conversely, say the news reports something like, "Super-famous person (about whom you probably don't even care) said blah to person A!!! Details at 5!!!" Why should you give a shit about that? Yet, the public gets into an uproar over the most unneeded gossip and we just don't take the time to understand ourselves better than to understand others. And, honestly, we don't need philosophers, sociologists, and psychologists to tell us what the norm is. We can define it ourselves by traversing through our minds and gain an outlook not dependent on conforming to the latest trends.
"Oh, person B says doing y is ok! Therefore, I can do it!"
No, use your mind, fool!
ZOMBIE TIME!!! (And let's return to the topic and hand, guys...)

EXACTLY then we must be strong enough to bare seeing all the evil and wicked and disgusting things that you see around you and be love. with that i mean not the queer sensual hollywood version that unfortunately springs to mind. but being someone that brings happiness into others peoples lives, simply doing good, being the oposite of what we know is wrong, doing what we know is right, and by golly realize our interest based monetary system we are led to believe is more natural then the water we drink and see how quacking wrong it is. therefore myself went into some changes considering how i look at money back when i thought Zeitgeist was the answer=) anyways it helped me see a certain part of the picture, and it helped me get rid of my possessiveness which Ive noted is a source of great aggression in others, which i am thankful for have being somewhat liberated from, since anger is such a tiresome state of being.

but it is on topic, since we are debating wether the world will end or
not, i think not since the inherent goodness in man we are seeing more
and more of in our day!

That Uncle Sam poster made me think of this movie:
What if it's not zombies at the end of the world, what if it's vampires?

Re: The Official End of the World (2012) thread!
What happens if all the animals in the world are actually incredibly smarter and more technologically advanced than us, and the only reason they don't show it is because they think we're all hilariously stupid and great entertainment?
EDIT: Also I can't believe that you haven't added the Ragnarok to that end of the world list yet

Okay, now everyone gather 'round the camp fire while uncle Shinji tells us a scary story about Ragnarok!!

Where's our story, Uncle Shinji?! I want a story about ragnarok!! I was reminded when I saw this today:
Re: The Official End of the World (2012) thread!
Just a reminder that we are all going to die
Happy happy smiley happy!
Enjoy life while you still can because, come December, we will all be burning and being eaten by zombies

All those scenes of beauty will look more like this:

Re: The Official End of the World (2012) thread!
We're halfway there folks!! Six months left until the world ends! That's six short months to get your affairs in order, pay off your debts or create even more debt, and prepare yourself for the end.
It's game over, man, game over!
It's game over, man, game over!
Re: The Official End of the World (2012) thread!
Well if Crash Bandicoot is anything to go by then I guess we can all look forward to turning into ghost angels and flying to the sky
But I'd rather go like that than any of these.

So 2012 has three Friday the 13th's, making it officially the most unlucky year since 1984. The next time there will be that many Friday the 13th's in one year is 2040, assuming the world doesn't explode entirely.
We're all doomed. Plain and simple.

Re: The Official End of the World (2012) thread!
Just like before the release of a widely anticipated movie, here come the End of the World teasers!
This evening at 7:30 eastern US time, an asteroid the size of a city block will zoom right by us. It definitely will not hit us, but it's close enough that this space camera will be streaming the teaser live:
http://events.slooh.com/
It has a countdown timer and everything for those of you in other time zones.
Apparently, a similar one just missed us on June 14th. All we need is one more! Once is chance, twice is a coincidence, but three times is a pattern!

Death by asteroid? That's so last century. I think death by exile is the way to go, literally (just watch the new batman movie).

Re: The Official End of the World (2012) thread!
We finally have definitive, indisputable proof that the world is ending:
Llama has stopped spamming and is actually using the edit button on his posts.
Run for the hills!! Hide your kids, hide your wife!!

Re: The Official End of the World (2012) thread!
You're welcome. Enjoy them while you can, only a few short months left until the world ends due to Llama not spamming anymore.
Re: The Official End of the World (2012) thread!
Damn you Llama! Why did you have to stop spamming? WHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHY!?

My spamming was saving the world?
but, but.
but, but.
Wonko the Sane wrote:I shall now keep track of the many ways in which we will all perish when the world ends.
This list will be updated as new methods of death and destruction and general world-endingness are contributed.
Llama will spam us all to death.
Re: The Official End of the World (2012) thread!
The entire history of the human race has been changed. We're all screwed. There's no way to contain the massive time paradox caused by two inevitable outcomes conflicting each other, Llama killing us by spamming and Llama killing us by not spamming. Adding it to the list.

Oh man we're so screwed!! What are we gonna do now?!! Game over man, game over!!
