Re: Official Movie Thread
They need to never stop making these movies. MOAR!!!
A whole bunch of movies have had new trailers released lately. Which ones are you guys looking forward to? Personally, I can't wait for The Wolverine. It follows the Japan story arc which is supposed to be the best story arc from the comics. Hansel & Gretel actually looks like it could be pretty awesome too.

Hmm...I'm excited for a bunch of 'em. I'll list them later.
I saw Jack Reacher a week or so ago...it was pretty cool. I wanted to see Django Unchained but never got around to it (I'll wait for it to come out on DVD, same with The Hobbit, which I also wanted to see).

Re: Official Movie Thread
The only reason I kinda wanted to see The Hobbit was to see it in that new 48fps tech they're using. I've heard it's all newfangled and fancy schmancy. I haven't had a chance to though
Jack Reacher's another one on my list to see when it comes out on DVD. I recently saw Looper and thought it was a bit odd. It was a good movie, I suppose, just... odd. Can't put my finger on it.
I also watched the Total Recall remake and as long as you're not watching it in the context of the original move, it's actually really good. Just don't compare it to the original because they're very different style movies.

Re: Official Movie Thread
I watched Gangster Squad last week. That was a badass movie.
I also want to go see Django Unchained, prob watch it at the weekend sometime.
Others I want to see: The Last Stand, The Wolverine, Oblivion, Fast 6, Iron Man 3, Pacific Rim, Kick Ass 2, Man of Steel and I definitely want to see Jurassic Park in 3d.

Oh yeah, there's a movie named after you! Is it the story of your life? Did you get to work with Spielberg? Who did you cast to play you? How many baddies do you slay in the name of all that is good!
Re: Official Movie Thread
I lost count on how many baddies I killed (for science) but after they were all gone, that's when the aliens invaded. Bring it!

Watched Django Unchained today and I thought it was an amazing movie. It was almost 3 hours long lol.
Here's a clip which I thought was humorous
Tarantino is the man.

He's directing the next Star Wars movie...I thought you guys all knew that and would follow with discussion on the pros and cons of that haha.
So GO! Follow up
Re: Official Movie Thread
Whoops, I totally missed that. And I've been seeing the speculation all over the internets too. So it's finally confirmed then?
I don't actually even know what to think of that yet. It's just... weird. For anyone who doesn't know, JJ Abrams did Star Trek. So........ yeah, weird for him to do Star Wars too.
He's done a lot of other really good stuff too though, so it's not like he can only do Star Trek. Looking at his IMDB profile, he's done Super 8 which was a fantastic movie, and Mission Impossible Ghost Protocol, which was easily my favorite Mission Impossible movie yet. He was executive producer on Fringe apparently, which I didn't know, but which was a great show. He also did the old Alias show which I really liked when it aired.
So he's definitely very capable and does a lot of really good stuff. I guess if Joss Whedon isn't doing Star Wars, I'd probably choose JJ Abrams next?

Re: Official Movie Thread
He did a great job with Star Trek anyway so the new Star Wars film is in good hands. Not better than the original trilogy tho, nothing can beat that.
Also now that JJ Abrams is directing the next SW, I'm not as worried about Disney owning it and ruining it.

Re: Official Movie Thread
I now expect the new Star Wars film to be as epic as this trailer mashup makes the original trilogy look.
Re: Official Movie Thread
Apparently there's some more details about two more Star Wars movies, one of them being a Han Solo story. Anyone know if these are confirmed or just speculation?

I heard Ford doesn't want to touch the new SW movies, and if it ain't Ford, it ain't Han.

Welp, it looks like he's doing it anyway. Along with Hamill and Fisher. I'm not sure how I feel about that to be honest. It seems a bit like the cheap and easy way out to me...

Re: Official Movie Thread
August... that's a weird month. They usually do those ones they want to be big in the summer. Are there a ton of other big movies coming out in the summer that they're trying to avoid getting lost in or something?
I mean, I guess Iron Man 3 has gotta be a summer movie. Maybe the new Superman too? What else?
