Re: Official Apple Thread
The image ads were rather unobtrusive a few days ago...everything got worse as of a few days ago. You would have been much more pleased with the older version. It much nicer and a million times faster.
Also, be sure to check out the "settings" so that you can customize it to your preferences. Actually, I think it is called "preferences" anyways lol...
As for Apps, obviously you need the One Direction app.

Everyone wants a piece of the pie. Except the record studios. All these tech companies realize that this is what people want, but the record industry refuses to let go of their old business model. They don't want these streaming services to succeed. Pandora recently had to limit their streaming to 40 hours a month because they aren't making any money with all the royalties they're forced to pay. Spotify also is either barely breaking even or operating at a loss according to what I've read.
The reason Apple doesn't have their own streaming service yet is because they aren't in the business of operating at a loss. If they do it, they're going to make a huge profit on it and the record industry learned from their "mistake" with iTunes music. They don't trust Apple and they don't want Apple to change the industry on them again. So they are refusing the cut the deals Apple wants.
They're fighting a losing battle though. Google obviously has enough money to take the risk, so I'm glad YouTube will do streaming also. It's one more service that'll make it even easier to stream music, meaning even more ways to get our music easily. Eventually the record industry will have to just admit defeat and sign the deals they need to sign to survive.

Re: Official Apple Thread
So guys I was just wondering is there any easy way of putting movies on the iPod Classic? I know you can convert them into mp4 but it would take a loooooong time to convert a movie. I have a bunch of movies on my external hdd but they're all in avi format. Any suggestions?

Re: Official Apple Thread
Would they really be any fun on an iPod classic, though?
Best thing to do is to somehow program them to convert to MP4 overnight and just keep your computer on until they finish converting.
Wonko probably knows a better way.

Can't really help here I'm afraid. Apple's iThings only support the newer mp4 format. I've used this program before to do the converting instead of iTunes and it's much quicker about it:

But it is riddled with ads and who knows what else so be careful what you click on when you're using it.

Ok cool thanks anyway. I used Any Video Converter to convert the movies to mp4. Seems to work well, it just takes a while. Just leave it running in the background.

Re: Official Apple Thread
Yeah, I think I downloaded that program once for something. Seemed to work fine.
