Re: New Game Releases
But it doesn't have a gps
This one shows you on a map of your block and ghost sightings in the area with the actual names of buildings in it. Apparently a church and an old folks home near me have some pretty nasty ghosts in them... I'd better go save the day!
brb busting ghosts.

It's awesome. Totally worth a dollar.
Re: New Game Releases
All those ipad games are real cheap. Don't like those casual games though. To simple and narrow in gameplay.
they should port jk2 to it!! With finger slashin saber combat
Heck why not? They already have quake on the ipad!

Re: New Game Releases
I have a star wars trench run augmented reality game too where I can blast Tie Fighters anywhere. It's awesome.
Casual 5-minute games like that are perfect for the iPhone or iPad. Think of all the times in your day you're sitting somewhere waiting for something for 5 minutes.
Look at your hands, now look at me, now back to your hands, it's an iPad! This iPad comes equipped with a proton pack. Look at me, now look at your proton pack, now look back at me, I'm a ghost! Who you gonna call? You could be the coolest cat in town busting ghosts instead of waiting idly for your turn at the barber shop. Or the doctor's office. Or the bus. Or your computer to turn on. Or the microwave to heat up your soup. Or that commercial to end.
See what I mean? I like more standard style iPad games too, but those casual ones definitely come in handy. I'm on a horse.

Re: New Game Releases
Slightly longer video of the new Splinter Cell game with some guy explaining stuff:

I like how it seems you can choose between old school stealth and avoid enemies without taking everyone out, or own them all crazy ninja fast Conviction style but better.

Re: New Game Releases
That CoD video is pretty hilarious. Very smart marketing. Really not that interested in Angry Birds to be honest. I never got into it. By the time I had heard about the game, it was already this huge super over popular thing. I've tried out the free version and I have the holidays game on my iPad and I just don't really see the appeal. I've played other games similar to that which I found much more fun. Maybe I'm missing something? I don't know why everyone is so obsessed with Angry Birds.
@Shinji: Wow that looks interesting. I really like the physics of the ships... it reminds me of Battlestar Galactica's physics which are way more realistic than something like Star Wars. Only thing is... it sounds an awful lot like Eve-Online except better. The problem I always had with Eve was how slow flying around space was. They made it too realistic. They claimed exploration was a possible thing, just as this guy does, but it was just impractical given the restrictions the game places on speed and jumping around from system to system and such.
I always liked Star Trek's space physics. See a planet you want to explore? Fly up to it and take some scans. With Eve this would be... See a planet? Fly towards it. Fly towards it. Keep going. Wish you bought that speed upgrade about now. Wouldn't have made a difference. Keep going. Just passed a marker someone left for the furthest distance anyone's ever gotten. Time for lunch. Come back. Still flying towards that planet I want to explore. Still flying. Sorry, your trial period has ended. Whelp.

Re: New Game Releases
I never really played too much Eve myself, I'm really not a fan of point and click space games. Space fighters on the other hand are a lot more interactive and involved, which is much more to my liking. Plus this is the same guy who created Freelancer, where the space combat and scale of the "universe" were just right for me. Although the scale ratios between planets and ships in that game were heavily criticised as being unrealistic (basically the planets were too small) however that was merely an aesthetic complaint tbh. The size of the universe was good though and it had a cool method of transport between solar systems called "Jump gates" and methods of transport within the solar systems themselves called "trade lanes", although some of the more outer systems didn't have trade lanes at all which was kinda slow at times BUT they usually compensated by making those solar systems smaller. SO YEAH, it's likely that the guy has tackled the problems of scale in the past, lets just hope he carries those same lessons to this game

Re: New Game Releases
I also hope it's not an MMORPG that you have to pay monthly for. I've really grown to be not very fond of those kinds of games.

They have released so many different versions of Angry Birds now but most of them are the same thing over and over. But you should give the SW one a try sometime, it's free on android. I found it more challenging than the others and the levels are based on the original trilogy

Re: New Game Releases
When I played the holidays one it seemed overly complicated. There were too many options for what the birds could do and I didn't understand what was going on.
Maybe it was only meant to be played after you played the full version... to get some training or something?
And Angry Birds SW is not free on iPhone... unless I missed the initial launch sale or something.

Re: New Game Releases
There is a free version and a hd version, which you have to pay for on the google play store. Maybe the free version isn't available for iPhone?

Re: New Game Releases
Looks like it isn't. I see an iPhone version for a dollar and an HD iPad version for 3 bucks.
Re: New Game Releases
There was a free version available some time ago.
Angry Birds is free for Chrome as a web app. I never got into it either.

Re: New Game Releases
I had a similar game before Angry Birds which involved penguins going after polar bears. I really enjoyed that one. When I tried Angry Birds, the simplicity of the other game I liked was gone and replaced with too many types of birds and powerups and such. Maybe it's just me, but I always think simpler is better.
Re: New Game Releases
So Black Ops 2 is out and man is it broken. Game freezes and the dlc codes that came with the special editions aren't working. Ofc Activision are promising to fix all this but these aren't exactly the problems people want from a new game that has just came out. And the people who paid extra to get the bonus stuff can't access it now, which is stupid

Re: New Game Releases
That sucks. This happens every year with CoD games.
How it the single player anyway? I'll probably play it one of these days.
