Re: New Game Releases
So guys I played DNF 2day and imho it's not as bad as ppl are saying. I've only played through the 1st few levels so far but the level designs aren't too bad. There's a lot of stuff to interact with like u can pick up random objects and throw them at enemies lol and I got to play some pool and pinball haha.
Also using big weapons to kill even bigger bosses is FUN FUN FUN!

TB mentioned that the game practially tells you to use the big guns and ONLY the big guns on bosses.
I'll stick with DN3D tbh.

Re: New Game Releases
Here's a gameplay vid I found on youtube which shows some of the level design on dnf. Some parts take a while to figure out what ur supposed to do (@ least for me anyway lol).

Re: New Game Releases
So I went back and started playing Splinter Cell Double Agent after I played Conviction a couple times through, and I'm really not liking Double Agent. Mainly because this piece of sh*t software is buggy as all hell, doesn't save my savegames properly which makes me have to re-play entire missions over and over again, crashes more often than I blink in a day and has even bluescreened my computer three or four times.
And I'm only on the fourth mission. Pain in my ass.
As far as gameplay goes, I don't like it as much as I liked the first Splinter Cell game. Most of the missions so far are in broad daylight, which completely defeats the purpose of having night vision goggles and being a shadowy spy type. The whole game so far feels like that one mission at the end of the first Splinter Cell where it was outdoors in the daylight on a boat or something, which I absolutely hated and just ran through as fast as possible. There are no light meters or sound meters like there were in the original game either.
If I'm gonna be sneaking around in broad daylight, Conviction had a much better mechanic for hiding behind stuff and shooting from behind cover. It made it actually enjoyable. But this is like trying to dry the tears of frustration by shoving shards of broken glass in my eyes.
I'm not even sure I'll finish it anymore. I was just at the end of a level I had to replay three times already when I followed a guy into a room to steal some of his papers only to find the door was welded shut or something when I tried to leave. Major glitch, I was completely stuck, and I couldn't restore my last save game because it decided to delete it on me soon as I did. Just restarted the entire mission again.

I thought the missions got progressively worse in DA...if you didn't like the first few, you're not gonna like the rest. sorry.
Re: New Game Releases
I thought the best mission on DA was that bonus one on the ship where u had to rescue ur daughter I think it was.

Re: New Game Releases
Conviction continues the story much better than that lousy attempt to resolve his daughter's death.
I guess that's the one thing I liked most about Conviction, it had a really good story, like playing through a movie. It had flashbacks throughout the game that you could play and everything. DA started off with "Whelp, here's your mission dunno why but kill these people then report back in, k?"

Re: New Game Releases
I'm nearly done playing through American McGee's Alice (which is included free with new copies of Alice: Madness Returns). As the game is 12(ish) years old, it's a bit dated. But, it's on the good ol' Quake3 engine and pretty passable. I don't know if I'd play it again on another difficulty setting (or even Normal again), but it is, at least so far, a great game. I don't know if it would win over non-Alice-in-Wonderland fans though (I think they're called 'normal people'). Wonko should definitely buy this for the free prequel alone.

Re: New Game Releases
Indeed! I finished the prequel last night, and it was overall a great experience. I really think you should go out and get this. If the actual game is as good as the freebie included, it is so worth 60 kaidollars.

Re: New Game Releases
I usually wait for new games to go on sale and the price to drop to a more reasonable level before I get them. Before you know it, Amazon will be selling it for 20 Kaibucks!
Re: New Game Releases
Overlord on Steam for 87 pence! Great deal, great game, go buy it! :3

Oh just tell us about the game already. I've watched one or two Youtubey things of someone playing it but I want to hear it from someone who isn't a game reviewer!
