iPhone 4.0 OS

ugh multitasking for 3GS and 3rd gen touch only... bullshit! I wish my 2nd gen could multitask.
ugh I may just buy another iPod touch whenever 4th gen comes out and give my 2nd gen away or something.

Re: iPhone 4.0 OS
The hardware inside the older generation devices, specifically the processors, wouldn't handle the extra load too gracefully. They'd probably be fine, but not up to Apple's high standards for a seamless user experience. Apple's very, very picky about such things.
I like the solution they game up with for multitasking, though. No task manager needed.. apps can't go awry and start sucking up your battery or cpu cycles, and they seem to have found a very good way of doing it so that it hardly affects battery life at all. Unlike on the android OS or any other phone OS where if you run more than a couple background processes you get like an hour of battery. The demo they did had four apps running and it didn't slow the phone down at all.
If you want to multitask on your 2nd gen you'll have to jailbreak it. But then it acts like every other phone OS and ends up being unstable and crashes and gets horrible battery life and so forth.

What happened to a normal cell phone? You know, where you just called people or sent texts? I've had my phone for about 6 years now. I've only just got it working again after 2 cause the battery had died but I'm not planning on replacing it anytime soon.

Phone? What's a phone? Is that the thing that was invented in 1876? Are people still using those relics?! You're kidding!!
Re: iPhone 4.0 OS

Re: iPhone 4.0 OS
The iPods don't usually get any crazy hardware updates. Just more memory and faster processors. The iPhone, on the other hand, better get some fancy schmancy hardware. Everyone's waiting for that front facing camera that'll let you do video chat, sci-fi style.
See what I mean?? Who uses silly phones anymore! Video is where it's at. Star Trek all the way.

What next?
iDate, the online dating service?
iView, Apple's next gen TV?
iShoot, combining the tech of an iPod with the shooting capabilities of a gun?
(You can tell I'm going out for a meal later, can't you?)
