.cfg file help Empty .cfg file help

Post by Bugenhagen Wed Jun 03, 2009 1:25 pm

Ok let me explain my situation. I have a file in my base folder named jericho.cfg. in it contains a bunch of binds, or a bind list. I earlier couldn't open the old one, but managed to get it into notepad. I saved it back into base, but now i can open it on a whim AND none of my new binds work. What..what's the problem here? Now all/most cfg files have the same binds but it still doesn't work in the game.

er.. so you can /exec jericho.cfg and it executes fine in the game, but it doesn't actually set any of your binds to what they should be??

It doesn't go in base it goes in the folder that is named after the mod you're using the Cfg for.

It doesn't matter which of them it's in. The game picks up anything located within the base folder.

yes, crazy is right, put your binds in your base folder.

forget all that /writeconfig crap they have in the game... just go to notepad, write up your binds, and save it as .cfg
example:
Code:
bind I "say Jericho owns you"
bind G "say cheese is for me"
etc etc

You can use notepad for just about anything. Download Notepad++ for a better notepad which is specially designed for coding. If you want to learn a programming language, I only know Java and basic HTML so hit me up if you want that. Naturally, Wonko is the person you'd want to see if you wanted to learn C++, which is used to code games like JK2. But don't bother him, because he doesn't have time for teaching the C language to people Razz

Got that right. I'm forced to learn it from tutorials D=

Still, SaMod is going great so far. Very Happy
