Alright, in this thread I'll be posting downloads to some of my maps.

This is the link to my south park map, which I've mapped as far as I want to take it. It's very minimalist, and many of the details were deleted in this version to aid FPS. While FPS can drop to the 50s in certain areas, these areas are limited and not too noticeable. The map is designed for term wars, and features no secret areas. There are several easter eggs. I recommend reading the readme in the spoiler tags below for further information on the map before playing

Alright, last night I compiled Bikini Bottom for a test run but something went wrong. It didn't run a -light compile, so I couldn't address the lighting situation. However, I did see that FPS is going incredibly well, and only dropped as low as 80 in two spots. Today I'm going to add entity placements and then see if I can check out the lighting. This one may be done a whole lot sooner than I originally thought.

I've added a lot of detail to bikini bottom since I last posted- a lot of things I thought would be interesting but never really got motivated to do. I haven't looked at the lighting on bikini bottom yet, but i'm planning on doing that tomorrow morning. As I said before though, this one's really close to being finished.
All entities are placed, I have a new texture for the pineapple, and new details such as streetlamps, coral, and fishing hooks have been added. Also, I don't think I mentioned this, but on every road there are boats moving back and forth.



I'm also trying to update ffa_sm64 a bit. I've located some old files, such as maps I had modeled after the level "Whomp's Fortress," "Snowman's Land," and "Big Boo's Haunt." I also have a modified "Jolly Roger Bay" on hand (pictured below) which has a very reduced bay. I remember when I tried compiling the map with JRB included, I kept getting errors so I assumed it was due to the large water shader. I'm hoping I can work around this...

Anyway, wonko really wanted JRB, so I'm pulling to make it work for him <3. Here's some shots to whet yer appetite

Ok so today I did something totally new. I modeled some characters! Well it wasn't entirely new, I did model a cow for my southpark map.

Anyway, I'm by no means a modeler, and GTK isn't a program for modeling. So these models aren't good by model standards. But for map patch work, I think they're pretty damn good.


List of characters: Penguin Mom, Toad, Shy Guy, Koopa Troopa, cannon Bomb-Omb, Goomba, Boo, & last but certainly not least- Chain Chomp.


CHOMP CHOMP!!

It took 5ish hours, 6 David Bowie albums, and a chocolate milkshake to do the textures and then mess with the patchwork in the editor. Some of them are iffy- I'm definitely not finished with the Goomba, I think I have to modify the texture a bit. The Boo also needs some work- the face looks a bit stretchy. I'm not 100% happy with the Toad, but I messed with him the longest and this is the best I can get 'im. And the ones I am happy with far outnumber those guys- I think the koopa, penguin, shy guy, bomb omb, and chain chomp turned out phenomenal.

I think I may attempt a yoshi and possibly a bowser model. They would be really awesome to have. The yoshi is probably way more doable than bowser though- but no promises on either.

I've finished the original line of characters. I added a bit more fluff to the penguin's arms, modified Toad's head and shoes, remodeled and fixed the goomba, and adjusted the texture on boo. Still not 100% happy with toad, but I think it'll do.

His snout took a while, and the face is still WIP. But it's actually going really nicely... I'm really really happy with whats going on here.

bowser is, as the spanish say, "El done-o."

He was really difficult to do. Way more detailed than the others- I think he was around 100 brushes by himself. The bowser arena will be a lot more fun to play now I'm gonna get started on the yoshi; after modeling bowser, it shouldn't be too hard.

Ooh that came out very nicely! If these are all going to be hidden somewhere in the Cake map, they should be pinatas or something that break open and throw candy up in the air that heals you when you crash it with a saber!

I finished two more- Mario & Peach. I'd like to make a camera lakitu, and then I think I'm done with these. I may also remodel the toad from scratch. It's really sub-par, especially when compared to some of the higher-poly characters.
