Bing Search Engine Empty Bing Search Engine

Post by Theicecreaman Sun Jun 07, 2009 11:48 am

Bing is Microsoft's new search engine which computes more than just keywords, it gets results based on previous searches and popular topics. I did submit this forum to it, but don't expect it coming any time soon Razz My thoughts on it; It seems like a decent search engine and will go into my bookmarks bar. Many consider it to be better than Google, but it is still in beta so time will tell. Google is currently the best search engine, with Bing and Yahoo! following it.

Another example of Microsoft stealing an idea pioneered by another company. Wish I could remember who did it, but I remember a couple years ago hearing about an up-and-coming search engine that did something very similar to this. Guess it never took off.

Nope.. none of those..... I'm sure it's still around somewhere. It was started by a friend of Leo's (from the Screensavers, if any of you were alive back then.. nowadays he does the TWiT Podcast).

I knew someone from years back that was creating a search engine that you could drag the icons on the page and put them anywhere , also a quick copy and paste with just the mouse. Though I never heard If it took off.

I was reading a magazine at the barber's the other day, I believe it was Newsweek... anyways, it said that it takes thousands of computers on Google to fetch results. A weird little fact there right.....
