Server stuff..?

In the moring today i got on the server. Nobody was there. Only Alice. Get what's weird? The other two were gone and Alice was slept (as in the command).


Later I tried to callvote for Country Roads using the menu, not the console, and it said "You've entered an invalid name or one that is not on the server list." That's i think exactly what it said, maybe a word or two off. But earlier in the day I voted for it and we went there.. What uh..What's goin on? Did I miss some big announcement?

I also tried to vote for exploration and country academy but it said the same thing. Did wonko take them off the list today?

Someone abused his bots. as for the maps idk.

Well Mr. Someone, I was on the server with you just before and the maps were changed constantly, I don't think it was the maps in my books, maybe a problem with your PC? I don't know just a suggestion that it could be.

Yea they were changed but i left my computer after we went there earlier in the day. Then in the nighttime when i tried i couldn't do it. So wonko or someone(not me) took them off or just a glitch, hack, or my computer got messed up..

I've made a bunch of adjustments to the way votes are handled in the mod, so it's possible something got screwed up somewhere along the way, but I thought I had finally worked out all the kinks.

Is anyone having issues voting for maps today?

again, same problem cept it's a lot of maps. all country, exploration, even thehangoutv2.

I made a list of them.
Working list: Ikbr Hq, Sirhc, Sybon, twilight, Entes Map pack, Italy, Innercity, Grand Flaw, the Sd map pack,
Grandflaw doesnt work if bespin does my bad.
not working: Country roads1/2, and academy, Epedtion, exploration 1/2
Not working: Hail booginsh 2, Yavin RPG, Ruins v6, Hangout, Wov,
Tmbj also works.

So what happens when you try to vote for these maps? Nothing, or does it pass but then go somewhere else instead?

The ones that dont work it says they arnt on server the ones that do work you can go to and play.

except earlier remember when we voted for jedicouncilgc and it went to deathstar, so i had to change it? =P

Well I don't really know what you have alterated Wonko, for me though I have limited maps, Jedi Council was the main one in the past that was used in my clan, I don't have all the new maps (mainly because they are too large to bother to download) The Single player ones are always fine because they obviously come with the game itself. It is just that some others that have been custom made are hard to keep up with getting when you have a busy lifestyle.

I think we should propose something on a weekly basis, what map or certain maps on which day, just letting people know If they have that particular map they can go online, If not, wait for the map they can obtain.

I have seen countless times people randomaly change to a different map during play and that results in others that don't have that map may not play and go somewhere else, hence leaving the server half empty.

This is not a complaint , just reality. I think we need a system just so we can determin the best plan of attack when and which maps people comsume.

I think also we should have a poll to see who has what and what they don't have. Not everyone 24/7 has the time to check every new update, but thats life. So in conclusion maybe you guys should post what you have and/or what maps you need.

Just a suggestion. We do need some sort of system to implement though.

Let me know on your thoughts on the subject If you wish to.

Geez Wonko seems like there's a ton of recent problems with the server.

Wasn't anything I did, actually. I seem to have found a limit in the number of map arena files jk2 can read.

As a workaround, I've removed all bits of code that check the arena files for valid maps. This means you can, technically, call a vote for any map you want whether it's on the server or not. It will throw a warning that it might not be on the server, but the vote will continue anyways to cover all the maps that Death listed above that haven't been working in votes. They should work fine now.

Maybe I'll find a better solution at some point down the road, but for now this is what you get.
