Mine came in a box... that's like a modern DVD case looking thing of sorts, weird. Is that the original you bought when it came out?

Mine is like that too, albeit incredibly torn up. Not even sure if the disc works now since it's so damn old.

It was the original case here on release. All games that are cd's came in boxes like that? Even my old age of empires came in a box like this.
Dvd Boxes are thicker though. This is just thin plastic, almost breakable.
