Expedition

Acrobat, creator of Exploration, quest, and other cool maps, made a new map called Expedition.
I know some members, including Sniper and I, have had this map for a while now, and it really is a great map. Probably the hardest challenges I've seen in a jk2 map. It was released on jk2files yesterday, and here is the downlaod link.

jk2files just added my 1.02 version. I added a few new areas to explore.

uhhh...I feel like this map is only half-done as it is since I need to do a lot of things to it but never get around to it. This version will probably stay the newest one on jk2files for a good bit of time since I think I need a break from any mapping.

I need some new music for my bar area, but I'm not sure what I want to use. Any ideas?

I got some msg->maxsize
error when I tried to connect.

No way for me to anticipate that error when I was beta testing it before release. I launched a server and had 4-5 people in it before I gave it to jk2files and it worked fine.

I think some servers get along better with that map then others or perhaps it's something I could have done to stop it or maybe the mods interaction or just this specific server. I don't know.

Of course this is the only server that has my map so there's really no way to see how it does in other circumstances. Then again jk2 and jka both are kind of dying.

Haven't had any issues with the map myself. Only people I've seen who have issues are those who still have v1.00 installed. They can connect, but get an error if they try to enter the game. Installing the correct version has fixed it for everybody that I know of who was getting an error.

I released a version 1.03 whenever they get it up on jk2files.

So watch for that.

You bet post back here when it's up just in case we miss it, since we don't usually check jk2files regularly anymore.

Looks like it got black holed in the jk2files queue although I have no way of knowing that for sure.

Does this map require 128mb set aside in the hunkmegs or does it work with the default value? Reason I ask is because we have a special section in the downloads list for maps that require 128mb.

Ya, most people need 128 for it.

I got it posted at Massassi temple also just for fun, which was where all the jk1 maps were in the 90's. Most people post at jk2files now days but since I had a massassi temple picture in it, i went with that too.
