Re: help with server
Your server is already set up as an internet server if you followed the instructions I gave you before. If your friends can't find it in the master list, but you see it in the local list, it's because you have a firewall or a router with a hardware firewall blocking it.
You need to open certain ports for a jk2 server. This support doc will tell you which ones: http://yodashelpdesk.lucasarts.com/faq.asp?sid=154343090617076248151142&pid=1379&pnm=Star%20Wars%20Jedi%20Knight%20II:%20Jedi%20Outcast%99&seid=3633&pos=Windows%20XP&top=Multiplayer&rid=19737
As far as how to open them, you're on your own. Every router and software firewall is different and it'd be impossible for me to explain how to do it for your particular situation. I suggest you find the manual for your router if that's the problem, or look up online how to open ports in a regular software firewall if that's what you've got. That's the best way to figure it out.

Re: help with server
When I got Vista, it would not let me install it, unless I blocked my Fire wall from Windows XP to upgrade, so in the end you have to take It off, these servers are not secure and Windows is over secure (espically Vista) So basically it's touch and go, why do you think it's so easy for servers to be hacked? Because the protection is down, you can turn off your virus protection abilities but I would advise getting a new mod for the server itself.

Re: help with server
Vista comes with windows firewall and I installed avg. Should I exit both, or what mod to download?

Re: help with server
Things like AVG shouldn't block it. Windows firewall doesn't do anything at all either.
It's normally related to the router itself. It has software that can be changed via your I.P. Somewhere on it should be something that can be changed but as Wonko has already said, each is different so we can't actually tell you where to go.

Re: help with server
ok then sounds like you Router is your phone which to me doesnt make much since but what do I know
anyway just type your ip adress into the inetnet browser and you should come up to your router page
You might need to login (my password to my router was admin so that could work)
once you get there follow your instructions for the rest.
This Site helped me
