mwhq.pk3

Well, found a group going through some maps, but they came across "mwhq.pk3." Figured it's modern warfare headquarters, googled until I was out of ideas, and can't find it. Anyone have any idea which map that is or which pack it can be found in? And what's up with filefront?

Yeah so Filefront has pretty much given up on the JK series as far as we can tell. A few maps are being re-hosted on the gamefront domain, but not all of them and they all have very different urls than they used to on Filefront. This is why our download list hasn't been updated yet. It'd require a lot of manual searching to find the new links for all the maps in our list.

I tried using all my google fu to find "mwhq" on gamefront but had no luck. Must have been a group from an old clan going through their old maps and maybe that was a map one of their members had made?

Yeah. jkhub has a few downloads listed but of course, they're not all there. Glad I got all the maps we used to play when I got them.

Oh hey, looks like you found a jk3files mirror.  Nice, I'll add this link to our downloads pages. I don't know how you found that, but good job.

I've never played on this particular map so I don't know if that's the specific one you're after, but it sure looks like it could be the one.

As a side note, if anybody wants to tackle the massive task of updating all our links now that we have a mirror site................. there would be free 's freshly baked by Ice which may or may not be edible.

The mirror uses the same map ID numbers at the end of the URL.  This makes it possible to use a script or something like the search/replace function in notepad++'s  which supports regular expressions.  For example, take these two links:

In Notepad++, I can use the regular expression replace function like so:

Find: (http://jediknight3.filefront.com/file/.*)(;)
Replace with: http://mrwonko.de/jk3files/Jedi%20Outcast/Maps/Free%20For%20All/

and Notepad++ will automagically convert that first link into that second link.  Any other links we have that exist in the Free For All category on the mirror site will also convert properly with a single click of the mouse.  The problem is, some are map packs, some are skins, some are not FFA maps, and the mirror site categorizes them separately.  Also, some of our links are hosted elsewhere and some of those are broken too.  So someone will still have to manually go through and click each link to verify it and fix the ones that don't work after that regular expression search/replace runs.

Any takers?

I have been asked if I was that person once or twice before, but it's not me.  I'm glad the site exists though, whoever this MrWonko is.

Okay so if you want to help fix up all the links, I have gone ahead and created a temporary duplicate topic for the JK2 and JK3 lists.  I hid them away so they can be worked on behind the scenes until they are ready.  You should see a new forum at the bottom of your main page now.  I've given you access to go in and directly edit the two posts I made.

I've already done a find and replace using the regular expressions code I pasted above, so some of the map links should be working now.  Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to go through and fix up any remaining links that don't work.  I suggest editing it in code mode (the piece of paper button on the editing toolbar) so you don't risk breaking the formatting.  It'll be easier to select just the URL portions of each line and replace them with a corrected URL.

Some of the links go to a different site and some harder to find maps link directly to our own Dropbox hosting.  You can leave those alone if they work.
