So today, in my Google Plus stream, I find stories about the bloody shooting in New York where a couple people were murdered and a bunch more injured by this one guy who was mad about being laid off from his job--and even by the cops who were shooting at him trying to kill him, sandwiched in between stories about the Mars Curiosity rover and its sci-fi jet booster crane landing exploring space and whatnot.

And I just don't know what to take from that. But it seems like it belongs in this thread.

There have just been so many killings lately that I also just don't know what to make of that. I mean, statistics-wise, there have been lesser killings with each coming year. But the amount of people going off the rails like this, I think, has increased. I feel like the number of gang-related murders is decreasing as people are becoming smarter, but life is just getting too intense for people to handle. Also, I think that people are becoming too comfortable with their lives such that every small thing is pissing folk off. In less-fortunate countries, people don't kill each other because they're pissed at the world. I really don't know what e;se to say on this regard...

It's almost a case of the smarter people get, the dumber they are. We're launching robots into space that are legit straight out of sci-fi, but a guy still walks into his former place of employment to kill his boss over a job he probably hated anyway.

IKBR has been dead for quite awhile, due to a few persistent friends i revamped up a new site http://ikbrclan.com/ with new forums plus a working server once again to mess around with, its more or less like wonko community, being a community now with friends who just mess around with a server that we have admin on

The Eiffel Tower has gone and poked itself through a stadium of some kind!

A wormhole has enveloped the Brooklyn Bridge and twisted it like a pretzel!!

We apparently now all drive hovercars and refuel on top of buildings!

And you're gonna need that hovercar, because the roads will all look like this when the world ends.

Unfortunately, hovercars can't get you to where you're going.

On the plus side, you can get takeout in the in the middle of rivers when the world ends, so that's cool.

Unless time goes all wibbly wobbly on you and your town gets sent back to the late 1800's.

And time's not the only thing going all wibbly wobbly.

That's okay, though, because the food sucks here anyway.

And when the tectonic plates shift, your town may end up in Antarctica!

Or it could simply be flattened!

Or uh ... not?

But does it really matter anyway? I mean, when you think about it, we all just live on a giant marble in space hurtling through the universe at unknowable speeds, so who cares about functional maps, right?

hahahaha this was the greatest!

I think they got their maps from TomTom or something like that.

....F*ck that! Google Maps has never let me down, unlike the GPS in my parent's house we've had for years. That thing NEVER worked properly. And it was like Garmin or something like that too. I always used to just print out directions from Google Maps or MapQuest and follow those. Now I have an iPhone though!
