I think I lost the map i made.

Edit- O nm. Wonko had it in DL section.

https://schoolofcake.forumotion.com/t11-important-downloads-jk2

jk2files is still messed up I can tell because that same map keeps appearing at the top from months and months ago. I'm scared to even bother to submit a map to that site now.

lol I really did lose it. I reformatted.

Anyone else see "Korriban Holdout (4.94 MB) " as the newest map on jk2files for maybe the last 6 months or so.

Every once in a while it will change maps, but then immediately revert back to Korriban Holdout (4.94 MB) again.

Actually, I'm referring to this: https://schoolofcake.forumotion.com/t568p15-is-this-deal-worth-it#9084

For those who can't access that post, here's a quick summary:

Ice was asking for help deciding which laptop to buy. He chose not to take our advice and bought a cheap POS that was awesome for the first five minutes. After that, things started to go completely wrong...

Theicecreaman wrote:...and I will go for this HP laptop instead which is only $449.99. Gotta love Black Friday!

Wonko the Sane wrote:Don't say we didn't warn you when you come back whining about how crappy it is!

Theicecreaman wrote:Actually, I love it! However.... my U3 Smart Drive (USB flash drive) doesn't work properly like it does on XP! Otherwise, I'm loving my Win 7 laptop! I will install JK2 later after I scream at my new laptop for not recognizing a f-ing USB!

Theicecreaman wrote:omg fluck this!!!!!!!!! How the hell can the OS not detect a fuckin' program on U3 startup?

any help for a win7 newbie?

Theicecreaman wrote:ok I finally got it by running it in compatibility mode in Vista service Pack 2... phew. So frustrated.. oh well! It's still awesome!

And more recently, while playing Hydroball:

Theicecreaman wrote:Halp guyz my laptop suckz0rzes so much I can't play Hydro for more than 5 minutes before it overheats and crashes!!!111

How's that for an "I told you so."

Do yourself a favor and save up some money before you go buying another crappy laptop. Spend a some more money so you get something that actually lasts a bit longer than a year.

Can't play jk2 for more than 5 minutes before it overheats? I'd call it broke, man. Trust me, it's only going to get worse and when it finally goes it's going to go fast. Back up your stuff and start saving up money for a new one now while you still can. If you're lucky, you'll get a few more months out of it and by then you'll have saved up enough for a decent new machine.

I am saving up but I'm not gonna buy another laptop for some time. If I do, I am seriously considering a Mac because the only game I play anymore is jk2 and it's on the Mac. However, I am also considering a "good" windows-runnin' laptop because I don't know if I can deal with the change and Macs are just too expensive man. Trust me, I won't buy a crappy one this time. I got this one for less than the advertised price (like 450 bucks I think) and it really does work well for anything besides games.
Bowing Oreo Cookie

All the other comp sci/IT people I know think my laptop's well worth it. My cousin's an IT dude and he concurs.

You're the only windows-hatin' dude I know really haha. (besides my relatives who hate technology and go on and on about how everyone's always on their electronic devices too much Razz ) Crazy
edit: ok, well, I have other priorities for my moolah right now so I'm not gonna bother u guys with my incessant questions about technology until it comes time for laptop-buying. 'tis lockin' time! DO THE LOCK DANCE GUYS! Lock

No laptop buying until mine breaks!!!!!!!!! BOOM!

As per the original topic, I think Acro found his mountain Razz

Wonko is gonna pester me until I get a Mac so therefore the topic must be locked. (although he can still reply to it...)

But, you see, the locking of the topic is symbolic Lock Lock

...and the lock dance is fun.

Lock Lock Lock Lock Lock Lock Lock Lock Lock Lock Lock Lock Lock Lock Lock Lock Lock Lock Lock Lock Lock Lock Lock Lock Lock Lock Lock Lock Lock Lock Lock

And when the party ends, this happens: Lock Lock Lock Lock Lock Lock Lock Lock Lock Lock Lock Lock Lock Lock Lock

and after the afterparty: Lock Lock Lock Lock Lock Lock Lock Lock Lock Lock Lock

etc, etc...
