All good and well but did someone notice this:

The flag is moving like it's in the wind...but theres none in space. Doesn't that strike you as strange?

It's because there's no gravity in space(duh). The gravity is what makes the flag fall on Earth, but because of the lack thereof, the flag can stand upright.

Actually, moon has gravity, just a small amount. But even then, fact outweighs opinion. Evidence says it was recorded in some sort of studio, while NASA say it actually happened.

Mythbusters did it, and proved it wasn't done in a set. They recreated the conditions on the Moon and got nearly exactly what the film shows, so tongue

If it says "One giant leap for mankind", then if he jumped on the moon, Wouldn't he fly into outer space? Because its zero gravity. And also in the moon car, Theres loads of bumps in the moon, If the moon car went over a bump, Wouldn't it fly?

myth

Post by Acrobat on Tue Jul 21, 2009 2:53 pm

"It's because there's no gravity in space(duh). The gravity is what makes the flag fall on Earth, but because of the lack thereof, the flag can stand upright."

I saw that episode a few years ago.

Their answer was that there is a wire on the top of the flag holding it up as well as the sides. It folds out so that flag couldn't no matter what.

The other accusation is why is it flapping around like there is wind.

The answer was that there was wind. However, the flag pole was made of tin\aluminum or some metal that tends to bounce back and forth once it's given energy (think Hook's spring law law F=-kx). On earth air resistance would slowly dissipate the energy so it would stop waving after 10-20 second or whatever, but without friction (air resistance) and no way to lose its energy, the flag just kept bouncing back and forth for an extended period of time.

Although this moon truther stuff is kind of silly anyway so I don't know why I bother. I saw one of those moon truthers charge Buzz Aldrin calling him a liar and a coward, and Aldrin got mad and punched him out. Kind of funny.

Well theres always going to be speculation whether it actually was ligit.

Theres a few theorys I have.

1. It was said the Cosmonaughts (Russians) beat America to it, so America didn't want to lose face.

2. Yes I believe the flag would not move at all and would bit stiff.

3. I have never known there to be able to be human shadows on the moon and there clearly were (unless it reflected off a powerful flashlight.

4. They said they made special gravity suits to stop them from flying off into space, probably the same with the with the buggies they drove.

I don't know whats true or not, probably never will know. However even If they didn't acomplish it then , one thing is for sure, they absolutly can now.

Thats what I think anyway.
One last thing, If they did make it in a studio, they would have to be pretty stupid to keep the air condioner on so the flag wouldn't flap around, maybe they thought noone would notice.

Myth busters

Post by Acrobat on Wed Jul 22, 2009 2:35 am

This is their video debunking the flag stuff:

Mythbusters video debunking Moon truthers flag claims

and
This is their video debunking the multiple parallel shadows myth that people claim had to be done in a studio
video link from myth busters

4. They said they made special gravity suits to stop them from flying
off into space, probably the same with the with the buggies they drove.

The moon does have gravity you know. What do you mean by that?

:The moon is 1/4 the size of Earth, so the moon's gravity is much less
than the earth's gravity, 83.3% (or 5/6) less to be exact. Finally,
"weight" is a measure of the gravitational pull between two objects. So
of course you would weigh much less on the moon. Imagine how far you
could jump on the moon! The Apollo astronauts apparently had fun :-):

And look, You can tell this is done in a studio.

He is in a big black shadow, and he is perfectly seen.

DID YOU WATCH THE MYTHBUSTER CLIPS???

It proves that that's perfectly possible on the Moon.

Face facts, man landed on the moon, there is no God, and Chuck Norris IS the Man.
