Have fun at camp, and watch out for the Zombie s!!! They're everywhere!!

Make sure you bring a Big Stick with you to fend them off when they come to eat your brains in the middle of the night when you're helpless and defenseless.

Well, I never liked camping much (give me a hotel anyday lol). At least it's not a surivial camp (Cadet Core) like we did for a whole week trying to find our own food, that was even worse our stupid Corporal didn't know how to navigate properly and took us to the wrong site, that idiot we sat there for a whole night even without water, and I can tell you, tired from hikeing and hungry for days the only camp stories turn out to be things like how much you's like a Big Mac from Mcdonalds or a thick shake.(Or maybe in this case Cookies all round!)

Hope your camp trip is more pleasant and as Wonko said (If you are still here to read this message and havn't left yet) take a bat with you, I think that the 6th graders would be a more threat than the wild lol.

Ha it isn't THAT kind of camp. At least I won't let it be. It's church camp BUT WAIT! I know what your thinkin. "Oh he's just some dumb christian kid." That's INCORRECT! Though i am christian.

Last year when i went with my youth group we mooned and flashed people from the window of the car and window of the dorm rooms. Then when they came runnin up there we darted back to our rooms. HA! OWNAGE! and i play a few sports like soccer and i bring a football for us. We also bought a poker set last year so we stay up till past midnight a lot and play poker! (i suck at it though so we don't play for REAL money)

Taking a bat would be a good idea but these are like..weak strong sixth graders and a few seventh graders in my group. all the others should be afraid of me cause i'm real intimitable. yes i created another new word.(means able to intimidate)

See you guys later! Rock Hard Willy Nilly Goodnight Smack Eating Red X Woohoo yeah! Panic Attack mj Dance Bash King RIP

Those pretty much sum up my trip.

I wasn't judgeing you my son (little back hand joke). Alot of my friends are Christian, well not all but anyway whos counting, and I was actually in a Youth group in my teen years, I even got asked to make a TV commercial when I was in year 12 (final year) to talk about the youth and how people can contribute to the better of the community (must of been my boyish good looks lol jk) We also tried to organise a skate park to get the kids off the street and so they would have somthing productive to do rather than mose around the street and vandalise, that didn't go through, the council denied the notion. So I am no christian but I'm no Atheist either, I'm somewhere in between.

Have a good time anyway my friend, and don't do what my friends and I used to do and get caught sneeking into the girls cabbins.

Peace man Smile

Yeah a religion is just that, what you believe. My best friend who I have known since I was like 3 years old to this day, we are like brothers, he was Baptised as a child, (from Dutch decent) , his mother was best friends with my mother and his mother was proclaimed to be my Godmother. However long story short, she got cancer and died, after my friends mother died he converted to Atheisim and basicaly said F you god, I don't believe anymore you sick barsted!

He was so cut up about it, as anyone would be, I was there for him but the fact of the worst matter is she died on his 21st birthday, talk about a kick in the nuts, every year when he has a birthday it must be just a reminder, he hasn't had any parties since.

It usually consists of him going to visit her grave with his father and sister.

Sorry for the not so happy story, I just wanted to point out how easily people can loose faith, myself well I was lucky my parents didn't baptise me or anything , they said I should be able to decide for myself, same with my sister.

In all fareness , I don't care what relgion people follow, what I do think is unfare though is If at a younge age they are forced into it, which many people I've met have been.

Not to continue talking about things unrelated to camping, but since Jeri brought it up, I will anyways!

If you ask me, atheism is just silly. You have to believe in something, whether it's the force or the devil incarnate or the powah of teh awsum Oreo Cookie . Just because humans have consistently screwed up everything that makes sense about believing in something bigger than you, donning clown costumes and charging entrance fees like some kind of freak show, and then calling it "organized religion" is no reason to decide you don't want to believe in anything at all. If your problem is religion itself, just don't believe in religion then. But Bowing to the Oreo Cookie , my friends.

I'd have to say I agree with Wonko's view. I call myself atheist, but I suppose my problem is religion. I won't begrudge anyone their beliefs, all of my friends of religious (I have Catholic, Chuch of England, Quaker friends and a friend who is part of a religion which is some sort of shoot off from the Mormons, minus the many wives bit). However, I find the idea that we will all go to Hell if we don't follow a select set of beliefs to be plane idiocy, and it's kind of put me off religion. I won't deny the occasions I've wished for a God or believed in one (fleetingly), but I personally feel that there just isn't any real reason for me to believe that there is a God.

As I said before, each unto his own...

Post by PaidByDeath Mon Jun 08, 2009 3:47 pm

I didn't really mean to start up a unrelated topic, It just came out of the blue and I am quite sure most people are sick and tired of the subject of religion.

Just there are so many Flaws (haha funny I mention, you know what I mean lol) in the Church, to me they are all about money, to make them rich so you get a passage to heaven. However just say in the respect there is a god, do you think he would care If you went to a building every once a week (church obviously) Just to listen to some preacher say praise the Lord and read from the bible?

I don't think so, you can still have faith in your own home, heck even in your car, doesn't matter. Plus there have been many priests that have molested younge boys. Is that kind to man or sacraligist and hipocrital?

The reason I don't believe in the Church are for these reasons.

1. They get rich from donations.

2. They contridict what they preach.

3. Beening a Catholic I think is the worst thing. Thou shall not use contraseption when making love etc, too many strict rules.

4. The Itallian Mafia, they would kill someone and then goto confession to think their soul is saved. Ahh but theres a catch , they do the same thing again.

Anyway, I am just generalising this, I'm not saying that I think everyone is like that , but I think everyone knows I am a very self opiniounated person, and this is just my view and I never mean to offend anyone, I am sorry If some dossagree with my views, but hey what would we have If we didn't think for ourselves? I'll tell you a flock of sheep following the shepard all the time.

Sorry about the spelling mistakes I can't be botherd correcting them. I just wanted to get my view accross.

Cheers guys as always.

Yea but you should believe in God cause (I'm sounding like Jesus for a sec stay with me) with him only you shall go to heaven. hell is worse than all pain on earth. and "god [that] loves you more than you could ever imagine". that's a quote from the pastor at that camp.

as for church, mine is full of old people and it is definitely flawed cause it's all directed to them. camp is based towards people my age so it helped a lot more. and my church is under it's budget so it's basically dying. my youth was also probably one of the smallest ones there.

also, im a baptist, christian. i dont believe in Catholicism.

and if you want to get to why there's so much pain if god loves us so much, it's because of our sin. personal sins, other's sins, another reason that i forget, and because we live in a fallen world.

Following the life of flesh is nothing because God won't be with you unless you follow a life that leads to heaven. doing so will ultimately lead to a heavenly afterlife and a joyous life. That's kinda what Christians never do. They follow the things THEY want instead of what God wants us to.

also, have you noticed some of the greatest people EVER that change things for the better have been assassinated? Ghandi, Jesus, and MLK Jr.? Weird. Suspect

Post by Cap'nJackSparrow Mon Jun 15, 2009 2:58 pm

This is my main beef with any religion: Follow our rules or go to Hell are the only 2 options. In that case, I believe I will take Hell. I will not have someone preaching to me that Jesus died for our sins so we should all be good little Christians and do as he said, and therefore go to Heaven as a result. People don't have to believe what they don't want to, and they sure as hell don't have to think they're being damned for all eternity by not being religious and following the "correct" rules. I won't disagree with people's beliefs, as everyone is entitled to them, but that also means I'm entitled to not believe and still go to Heaven. Except no-one seems to realise this, which is why I eventually gave up and became atheist. Unfortunately, that decision wasn't aided by the fact I'm good at Physics, but it's the view I prefer. To me, no God is better than having one shoved down my throat.

Good at physics, huh? You might like this. It starts off with a little story, following a main character, then just sorta goes way the heck out there into the realms of metaphysics, spirituality, etc. Keep an open mind as you watch it, and recognize that it's not out to prove anything, but rather its only purpose is to make you think and ask "why" or "why not?" They also have all kinds of psychos from all different religions talk in the video.

http://www.moviesfoundonline.com/what_the_bleep_do_we_know.php

I know at least one person who--I believe he said he was an orthodox christian--can't stand this video. He's very much into science, oddly enough, and couldn't get past some of the faults he saw in the video, saying they just weren't founded in physical reality at all. Don't be as close-minded as him Razz That's not the point of the video.

I just find religion very closed minded... Go to Heaven, with angels, or go to Hell, with demons. Where's the place where you meet sexy girls all day?

And I like Physics and am good at it, though I prefer the Family Guy interpretation of the Big Bang: God, Chuggs, farts and a lighter. Hehe.... ARGH! I MENTIONED GOD! ARGH!

Yeah off topic but things tend to happen that way. I just have to say one thing though. If God wanted us to be so closed minded then he would not of granted us the freedom to think for ourselves, people say oh he's testing your faith, well in that case it's like he's playing a game with you, he would of made us all religious If that was meant to be. Like a spirtual Labotomay when you are born so to speek.

And also, worrying about going to hell, look bud reality is hell, theres no carmful bliss people get killed everyday, and nothing is the perfect life, I think in my opinion Christians just use faith as an outlet to escape the stress of everyday life. My opinion I'm not using any factual points.
