Post by Bugenhagen on Sat May 23, 2009 5:02 pm

I need a Star Wars Jedi Knight 2 Jedi Outcast bot. I can't find the disk and nobody in my house seems to know where it is Sad

I know Snipe has a link on filefront so i guess i'm mainly just askin for the link again.

jk2bot is a program designed to give players an unfair advantage- its an auto aiming script which has wall hacks and stuff like that. I don't think that's what you're referring to, but for future reference know that jk2bot is a sore topic-- at first glance I thought you were asking for that program.

You're trying to find a virtual disk I think. Or a no cd crack. I've yet to find a working cd crack, but I think there's plenty of torrents around with the virtual disk on mininova.org

yea, just a way to play without the CD.

I'm sure Snipe was aware of the wall-hack stuff when he sent me the link a few days ago, but I wasn't...

jk2 bot is a cheat program. I didn't know it acted as a cd crack either, but maybe you're getting jk2bot confused with another jk2 application.

Here's something you COULD do. It's how I play jedi academy seeing as how it's impossible to come across a physical copy of the game.

Explanation: You install a program which reads CD files (.iso files) as if they were physical disks. Once you have a .iso file, you can play the game as if you had it.

First, you need to download the program Daemon Tools. It's my favorite brand of what's called a "virtual drive." It's a virtual (meaning not physically real, existing only INSIDE your computer) drive (meaning CD/DVD drive).
http://www.disc-tools.com/request?p=d3ff3c7ef98cf28e8f679558c249d94a/daemon4304-lite.exe
This software is perfectly legal, by the way.

Step two- You need to acquire a copy of a JK2 .iso file. Since you have purchased a copy of the game, but misplaced it, you are legally entitled to download the disk online. You're going to need a Torrent program in order to get this working though.

Step two A: Torrents and You.
Torrent programs are programs designed to download files from multiple sources so you can download large files in a relatively short amount of time. First, download the application. My favorite is utorrent.
http://www.utorrent.com/

Step two B: Using a Torrent.
Torrents (.torrent files) are essentially scripts which say 'download this file, this file, and that file from these places.' As such, torrents are generally extremely small files. Since icecreamman doesn't want me posting torrents here, I can send you a link to a reliable torrent of a JK2 .iso file.

ONCE YOU HAVE THE TORRENT-
Load the program utorrent, click "add file," and select the jk2 .torrent file I sent you. This can take up to a few hours to download- this is the longest part. Once it is done, there will be a Jedi Outcast folder (or named something similar) in your My Documents/Downloads folder; this Downloads folder will be created upon installation of utorrent.

Now, search that folder and make sure you can see the jedioutcast.iso (or named something similar). Now, load the program Daemon Tools that you installed way up there. An icon of a CD with a lightning bolt through the center will appear in the lower right hand corner of your desktop, by the clock. Right click this, go to VIRTUAL CD/DVD ROM; and SET NUMBER OF DRIVES. Set drives to ONE. Now right click the icon again, go to VIRTUAL CD/DVD ROM; and DEVICE 0. There should be an arrow next to this which opens yet another menu. On this menu, select 'MOUNT IMAGE.' A window comes up, and you must locate the jedioutcast.iso file. The jk2 splash screen should then launch.

Obviously, this is a long process. If you're not willing to do this, tell me. I'll wait for your response before I send you anything.

well, i dont know. it seems like it'd be better just to keep looking in my house cause it'll save me a lot of trouble, and i'll probably find it after i download it.

thanks for the long post and ur time and links and stuff..but i'll wait till i've given up all hope(or cant find it again)

Its been some days i dont know if you found it but heres the link.
http://files.filefront.com/jk2mpzip/;5008990;/fileinfo.html
Replace the jk2mp.exe in your gamedata with it and you can play without the cd.

technically that isn't a torrent....ish.. so you're safe. That file is also made public so by the forum terms of service, you aren't violating anything....ish....
