Server just crashed

Where is he right now? just offline...?

Tests are ongoing as to why it's suddenly deciding to crash every few hours. Sorry guys Hopefully I'll be able to sort this out soon. On the plus side, the hydro server works fine! So... go play some hydro in meantime!

Attention! Server down. Requesting cpr asap

cpr has been performed and the server is back on its feet! It's a little wobbily around the knee areas and it might be slurring its speech for the next short while, but nothing a strong cup of coffee and a cold shower won't fix.

crashed again

it was on the jedi council gc map, and we were using mines. That could have contributed to it.

It's back on its autorestart script (I had to turn that off to eliminate some variables while I was trying to figure out what was causing the odd cvar errors), so barring the catastrophic cvar failure which doesn't cleanly crash the server, it will restart itself within 10 seconds like it used to for the normal crashes 'cause of the mod being too awesomely awesome.

you know what'd be funny wonky? if the server crashed then came on again quickly like you said, then it crashed for the rest of the day.

Wonko took it down to do some updating. It had to download something..i forget what it was but "server" told us it was going down and it had some updating/dl'ing to do.

Major OS updates and work on the server.

Did not go so well.

Discovered many other problems.

Will attempt temporary fixes until permanent solution can be found.

You guys are welcome to chill at the Ca server until your server is back up.

It's nothing wrong with the mod. I took the jk servers down to do some major long-overdue maintenance on the physical server. It should be back up within a few hours of this post if all goes well.

The servers are back online!!

Stability tests with all the new updates are ongoing.. fair warning.

You should really post a list of updates and fixes, so we know what not to do to cause another meltdown...

It wasn't anything anybody did to cause a meltdown... I did some major hardware maintenance on the server and did a couple huge OS updates. Just took a couple days for all that to finish

If you really need a list, then uh... I replaced the power supply with one that has more wattage so the server can handle more stuff, upgraded the OS to Ubuntu Intrepid Ibex, and then again to the recently released Jaunty Jackalope, and cloned the hard drive over to one with tons more space for tons more maps because the old one was rapidly running out of room.
